VENICECAMPANILENIGHT

We have been to Venice a couple of times, and never gone up the Campanile in St Marks Square. Mainly because every time we went, the queue was always huge, and I don’t really do queues, despite being British. I have no idea where this is pointed at but I think that the domes in the bottom are the Doge’s palace and the bit further on is Santa Chiara which I think is the port. It’s quite amazing how much of Venice you can see from the Campanile, in fact you can see all of Venice.

Weirdly enough I don’t remember ever hearing the Campanile ring, but apparently it does, twice a day, at 12am and pm. If I ever go back, I’m just going to sit in St Marks Square just to hear it. However, thinking about it during the Carnevale, I did see someone zipwire from the Campanile, and I can only imagine that this might have been at 12pm. That would make a little sense.
