Big Bird
ROBINBIRDSBOKEH
At the start of the photo session, I was just happy to get a picture of a robin on the fence some distance away, but as it turned out, I got a much better picture. We were doing gardening which always attracts the birds anyway, you clear some ground and it’s a potential goldmine for the little things. So we have this robin which I have taken a picture of before (I think) and he’s a little bold. In fact when we were tidying things up, the robin sat on a branch right in front of me.
I have a bit of an obsession with robins (perhaps no more) because they were always elusive.
So I took a few snaps of the robin sitting on the fence, but nothing too close up, and then there was this chirping. Which carried on for a while after the robin left and never came back.
It turns out that this happened to be two robbins, having what I can only assume was a territorial spat. Now I have never heard a robin chirp, but I did know they were very territorial, and they were moving very quickly, which was bad for me and my camera that was not focusing as well as it should have been, until this little robin, during its fight, decided to sit right in front of me for enough time for the camera to focus.
I’m so glad i spent time sat in the garden appreciating the world around me.
