Fortuitous Flights
HALLASTLEY HALLFOUNTAINHURRICANE
I’ve been here before in 2017 and don’t remember much about it, but I suspect we came from a different angle, though I always search my Google Photos before going anywhere to see if I have been because we have been to quite a few places, and they sometimes merge into one.
This happens to be Astley Hall in Chorley which is quite a nice walk from the furthest car park and the hall isn’t bad either. For a fiver you can walk around the 16th Century hall that was (as usual) built upon and extended so there bits of it are all sorts of ages. The gardens attached to the call were quite pretty too.
The cafe was jam packed by the time we were ready for food, I think the weather brought everyone out, so we headed off to Cedar Farm, which was quite interesting, rather than have one bar to order food, it was like a mini food court, though one of the three food places were closed. And if you like walking around jewelry shops and the like then this is the place for you. I could have done without the shopping so I stepped outside, which was very fortuitous, because I got to see a Spitfire and Hurricane flying back from their stint in the Battle of Britain flypast at Blackpool Airshow. It was one of those times where you hear an aircraft go over, the noise is unusual so you need to look, and then you see the signature wing shape. To high for a decent picture, but I have better a picture of the Hurricane anyway
