Stave Falls is the name and generating electricity is the game, but not where the picture was taken because this part is a visitor attraction and has been decommissioned, the real place is further up the hill I believe. Despite its lack of productivity, it does look impressive, and because of its lack of productivity, you do get the run of the place. It reminds me of the Hoover Dam, which looks similar but huge. It was active, so you could only view from a safe distance. Here you do get free reign more or less. In addition there’s a sciency bit where they demo a mini Tesla tower, as well as all sorts of experiments you can try out for yourself.
It’s not too far out of the way from Vancouver, quite near Mission which I believe is a place to visit, though we just had lunch there, so I can’t vouch for anything in the vicinity of Mission, though I can vouch for the burgers and tomato sandwiches served at Browns Socialhouse in Mission. What I didn’t realise is that it’s a chain, just looking them up on Google maps shows there are about 15-20 in the Vancouver area, which is information that is of absolutely no use to me now, and probably also in the future.
