It's Not Mercury

RENISHAWSTATUEHALL

For this weekend's fun we went to Renishaw Hall. I thought that I had been there before, but when turning up it was obvious that this was not the case.

Whilst not a massive estate it was large enough to walk around and has it's own vineyard and formal gardens, though access to the house is only possible by guided tours on Friday, so that's not going to happen.

The format gardens are interesting with the gothic lodge looking interesting (It's a pity you can't get to it otherwise there would be a picture of that here I think). And the old saw mill was interesting with a particularly ornate chimney for a saw mill. The chimney served to vent the Tzar Engine that used to power the saw mill until the 70s, at which point it was removed and refurbished to be used as a museum piece.
